Long-chain nylon PA610, PA612, and PA1012: Properties and Applications

PA610 , PA612 and PA1012 are nylons of the diamine-dicarboxylic acid type with even-numbered methylene groups. They can crystallize to form the α crystal form and have similar physical properties. Downstream, they can be used in fields such as mechanical manufacturing, automobiles, electronics, and aerospace, for making precision plastic parts, oil pipelines, containers, oil-resistant ropes, conveyor belts, bearings, gaskets, insulating materials in electrical and electronic applications, instrument housings, gun stocks, military cables, and more.
Compared with common short-chain materials such as PA6 and PA66, long-chain nylons have a lower ratio of amide bonds to methylene groups, which can largely compensate for the shortcomings of short-chain nylons, such as easy changes in dimensions and morphology caused by high water absorption. They have low density and resistance to acids and bases. At the same time, long-chain nylons exhibit excellent toughness and flexibility, and they also possess most of the general properties of nylons, such as lubricity, wear resistance, pressure resistance, and ease of processing.
